Breast Cancer

Cancer type
Description
Breast cancer is the most studied cancer type in the wiki’s corpus. It is the cancer in which APOBEC mutagenesis was first characterized (Nik-Zainal et al., 2012) and in which APOBEC3B was first identified as a mutator (Burns et al., 2013). Key molecular subtypes include HR+/HER2- (luminal), HER2+, and triple-negative. HR+ breast cancer is treated with endocrine therapy (aromatase inhibitors, SERDs) and CDK4/6 inhibitors; resistance mutations in ESR1, RB1, and PIK3CA are detectable via ctDNA.
